Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I become a member? You only have to complete a membership form at the library.
- How many books/magazines/videos/CDs may I borrow? You may borrow up to six items at a time.
- How long is the loan period? You may borrow up to six items for two weeks.
- May I extend the loan period? You may extend the loan period on all items twice - in person or by telephone - provided that the item is not requested by another member.
- Do I pay a fine for overdue items? Yes. Please keep track of due dates to avoid fines.
- Are there items that are restricted to in-library use only? Newspapers, the latest copies of magazines, and reference books that are marked "Ref" on the spine label.
- Are there facilities to make photopies? Yes.
- Is the library a member of the national interlibrary loans scheme? Yes.
- Does the library have free Internet access. Yes.
- What is the library's service hours? Mon. Wed, Fri: 10:00-17:50 Tue & Thurs: 12:00-17:50 (Closed on alternative Thusrdays) Sat: 08:30-12:50 (Closed on alternative Saturdays)
- What services does the library offer? General information, assistance with school projects, reference facilities, study facilities, community information, A wide variety of books (including fiction, non-fiction, books for newly literate readers, large-print books, and books in foreign and indigenous languages), CD’s, CD-ROMS and videos, magazines and newspapers, Internet and PC use, a photocopying service, story hours and holiday programmes; item reservation and inter-library loans.
